Vic Elmes had a hand in writing two of the songs featured on the soundtrack to the movie High Looking High, released in 2003. He also played on the songs, which featured lead vocals by Gary Glam.

High Looking High (V Elmes)

The title track to the movie is a remake of the song which Vic originally recorded with his short-lived band China, which Vic formed after leaving Christie. The piece is a bouncy, rocky number which has a harder bite to it than the commercial pieces Vic played on with Christie. More than 20 years since it was first composed, the song still holds up well, with a hooky riff that grows on each listening. The 2003 re-recording features some wonderful guitar picking by Vic.

Vic reverts to a commercial country pop style for this piece. Simple lyrics, but a very tight musical arrangement, contribute to a nice, toe-tapping sound.
